Intro to Defensive Shotgun Lesson Plan
This class is designed to present the fundamental skills necessary to use a shotgun in a defensive capacity. There will be a focus on gun handling, marksmanship, and safety. If you spend some time familiarizing yourself with the shotgun prior to class it will be helpful.
Some of the topics covered during this one day course will include:
This class will be hands on. Be prepared to spend the day on the range. We strongly suggest that you bring the shotgun you own to this class as well as a spare ammunition carrier attached to the shotgun or your person and a sling (tactical sling preferred, however a standard sling will work). Semiautomatic, pump or double barrel shotguns in good working order are recommended for this class. Contact us with any questions or concerns.
~75 rounds of Buckshot, 25 slugs and 100 rounds of birdshot will be needed for this one day course.
*Bulk packs of shotshells are fine, however brands that utilize a silver colored rim may cause feed issues during long strings of fire and should be avoided.*

- Clearing Malfunctions
- Fundamentals of Marksmanship
- Live Fire – diagnostics and shooting drills
